Carolyn Sheather is a well known and celebrated Australian artist, known for her beautifully rendered paintings and drawings, with a clear eye for discovering the magic in each moment.
She was drawn to art from a very young age where, even as a child she sketched whenever the chores were done. She learned to make pigments from the creek bed on her parents farm, in North East Victoria, where her love for animals and the natural world was born.
Since then she graduated form an art college with two Excellence Awards for Drawing, received a RADF Grant and, with AUSTRADE backing, ventured to Germany for a world trade fair.
Carolyn has been featured in the Australian Artist Magazine twice, and spent months sketching through Europe as a travelling artist and Artist in Residence. She's exhibited in solo and group shows in Queensland and Victoria, and participated in creative collaborations with artists and ceramicists in France and Italy.
Her artwork is featured in both local and international collections, and her commissioned works include endangered Australian wildlife, book illustrations, a tea collection for printed products and animal portraits.
Carolyn’s drawing, painting, sculpture and designs are inspired by the beauty she encounters in her wanderings through local landscapes.
Whether she is taking photos, sketching, painting animals in oils and watercolours, or traveling Europe with her sketchbooks… her style shines through.
She now teaches local workshops in Victoria and leads international art tours through the Greek Islands, Italy and France.
