My Story
Nicolee is a multimedia artist working in charcoal, acrylic, and oil. She works from her home with her beloved Wolfalike dog, Silver, by her side. He is the inspiration behind the Echoes OF The Pack business name and appears on the logo.
Nicolee has a love and reverence for nature and animals. Growing up with horses and watching westerns, she enjoys depicting cowboy horses and the wildlife of the American West.
She often places her animals against snowy backdrops, having been inspired by living in Mansfield and visiting the snowscapes of Wyoming, USA, Finland, Switzerland, and Canada.
The subject matter she loves the most is horses, bears, wolves, deer, and bison and she enjoys experimenting in different ways to express the beauty of these creatures. In between developing her ever-evolving style, Nicolee has a steady stream of pet portrait requests. Her favourite medium to make these is in white charcoal on black paper. These are fun to do, often preferring smudging the charcoal with her fingers over using a blending stick.
Nicolee really gets involved with her art, putting her energy into each piece. Her messy mountain series, which are created with bold application of thick white oil paint using palette knives, are full of movement and texture.
Nicolee has sold original art out of Artist co-ops, restaurants, and other businesses. A series of her horse cards was sold in a saddlery franchise and gift shops throughout Australia.
Her aim is to produce affordable art capturing the spirit of the animal or a place in nature.
