My Story
Several years ago, Mandy attended a Wendy Jagger ‘Wheel in a Day’ ceramics session, which sparked her long-held desire to learn ceramics using a potter’s wheel. She has been attending weekly classes for the last 2 ½ years and now also creates from a studio shed at her home in Merrijig.
Mandy finds inspiration from earthy tones and textures and creates simply designed and glazed every day functional mugs, bowls, and baking dishes from stoneware.
More recently, Mandy has also found a passion for creating hand-thrown vases and jewelry jars using porcelain, which are embellished with flowers and floral designs, then hand-painted with underglaze. Her colour palette inspiration is drawn from the bulbs that come to life in her garden each spring, from vibrant yellows through to muted pinks, oranges, and purples, along with the muted grey, green, and blue tones of Australian gum trees.
