My Story
Lisa Stevens is relatively new to the world of ceramics, having commenced classes with local artist Wendy Jagger about 4 years ago.
This is her first year participating in MOST, having set up her own home studio.
Finding inspiration in nature - its textures, forms, and organic imperfections - Lisa creates both functional and ornamental pieces, including kitchenware, tea lights, and bird feeders.
Clay is tactile and connects her with the earth. Both are unpredictable yet transformative. More recently, Lisa has started drawing and exploring the technique of transposing those designs to her work using sgraffito.
Lisa finds the whole ceramic experience therapeutic and meditative, an escape from the business of life. She looks forward to further developing and exploring different techniques and creating pieces for the community to enjoy at home.
