My Story
Artist, Jane Jordan, has been making art in one form or another for many years. Jane uses art to maintain her sense of self and bring balance to her life as a mother and artist. Jane has been working with fluid acrylics and various pouring mediums for more than 3 years. While she has no formal training, Jane has learned numerous techniques from other artists and through trial and error of practice. She believes there’s a level of intuition and passion that comes into play when creating any art.
Jane’s creative process is largely driven by colour and the ones she chooses are usually based on her mood at the time, but her main goal is to create something that makes her smile. Other times when creating she may have a scene or location in mind (ie. beach, ocean etc) that will influence the colours and leave the piece with a sense of that environment. Jane enjoys the experimentation process and is always discovering new techniques or ways to do things, or as Jane calls them “happy accidents”.
Jane hopes to continue to learn and grow as an artist and help others to see that you don’t need to be able to draw or paint realistic scenes to express yourself. She believes that art is within reach of all of us and is good for the soul.
