My Story
Lisa O'dwyer has been painting for around ten years and has lived in Mansfield for forty years. She uses watercolor and oil paints, and dabbles in Lino cut printing. She often gets her inspiration from around Mansfield and her many bushwalks, the stormy skies, ferns, mountains and rivers are inspirational. Lisa loves painting wildlife using inspiration from her children's experiences with animals ranging from kangaroos, koalas, bats, kookaburras, bilbies, possums, eagles and more.
Lisa exbibits her work in the Hospital Art Show every year to show her support to the Mansfield District Hospital and sometimes enters her art in a few shows if she has time. She displays her paintings in Made in Mansfield for the public.
Lisa works from home in Barwite and has a small studio which gets beautiful light and a view to her garden and birds, often her dog is at her feet sleeping while she paints.
Lisa spent her early years in Melbourne but later moved to Mansfield with her parents on a small farm which ran cattle and sheep. She then started her working life in catering and later as an early childhood educator. She loved teaching the preschool children to paint and create to help develop their artistic side. From there she started painting herself.
