My Story
Rosemary Lloyd creates fashionable and functional handbags, wallets, and accessories from environmentally sustainable vegan-friendly ‘cork leather’ in her studio in the historic town of Jamieson in northeast ranges of Victoria.
Each bag in the range gives a nod to her gold mining ancestors with names such as the Eldorado Triple Zip, Eureka Bucket Bag, Prospector Hipster, Lode Wallet, Loupe Glasses Case and A1 On-the-Go-Pouch and the brand name Jamieson Rose pays homage to her grandmother Rose Wray who was born and raised in the Jamieson district.
Rosemary stumbled upon this new and exciting textile when researching alternative materials to leather. The more she delved into cork the more curious and excited she became, because like leather, cork is smooth, soft, durable, and sturdy. Yet unlike leather, it’s very light, waterproof, stain-resistant and scratch-resistant. What’s more, it’s eco-friendly and sustainable, and bags, wallets and home décor products made from cork just scream quality and luxury.
Rosemary graduated from university with a Bachelor of Science and undertook further studies in Marketing and had a successful career in healthcare services management. Her creative outlet though has always been sewing. Her first sewing machine was battery operated toy. Over the years she progressed to increasingly sophisticated domestic machines, and now in retirement, she spends her days creating on three ‘thumping big’ industrial machines.
Products include: Crossbody Bags, Shoulder Bags, Handbags, Tote Bags, Wallets, Cosmetic Bags, Toiletry Bags, Wristlets, Pouches, Sunglass Pouches, Key Rings, Cork’n’Canvas Cushions, Cork Earrings and Linen Artisan Aprons with cork trim.
